Mountain Shadows Community Homes
The mission of Mountain Shadows Community Homes (MSCH) is to provide the best possible environment for our residents to achieve maximum independence and improved self-esteem through the superior habilitation, training, and support systems we offer. The individuals who reside at MSCH have a wide range of abilities and particular needs. We assure that each of our residents has their full spectrum of living requirement met by providing and coordinating individual service programs. Consulting professionals provide care and assist our Direct Care Staff with meeting program needs by providing training and education to the residents in the areas of: Self Help, Behavior Adjustment, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Recreational Therapy and Nursing Care. There are also other programs designed to assist resident with maintaining and increasing the skills needed for greater independent living. To receive services at MSCH, a person must be diagnosed with a developmental disability such as, but not limited to, mental retardation, autism or cerebral palsy; many of our residents also have a variety of physical disabilities that may hinder their ability to live independently. The nature of the disability must require the structure, support and supervision that MSCH offers. Placements of residents to live at MSCH are coordinated by the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC), which provides social services and referrals. Residents, family members, and any other concerned parties develop an integrated plan with a SDRC Coordinator, which includes determining the proper living environment for the resident.
